RLJ Equity Partners is a middle-market private equity firm focused on generating long-term capital appreciation by investing in profitable and growing businesses led by strong management teams. Founded in 2006 by Robert L. Johnson through a strategic alliance with The Carlyle Group, RLJ originates, structures and invests in traditional buy-outs, recapitalizations, and growth capital infusions.
Our mission is to establish RLJ as the pre-eminent middle-market private equity firm in the United States. Our advantage stems from the access and resources provided by our founding partners, combined with the extensive relationships and operational expertise of our Executive Network, an accomplished group of proven industry leaders which collectively brings a unique depth of business experience to our investments. Our approach is to leverage these relationships to source proprietary investment opportunities, consistently create value within our portfolio companies, and generate superior returns for our investors.
ABOUT US
RLJ primarily invests in North American companies with enterprise values between $50 million and $250 million. While our target investment size is between $15 million and $30 million per transaction, we have the ability to pursue larger transactions in collaboration with our strategic partners. We seek out opportunities where we are able to partner with proven and motivated management teams and create value through a combination of strategic capital and operational insight. By leveraging our extensive network of formal and informal relationships, we are also able to bring significant expertise to the investment process across a broad range of sectors, especially within our preferred industries.
